alex's lemonade stand

my daughter's kindergarten class had an alex's lemonade stand at their school's craft fair this past weekend. i made some cute little lemon cookies for the kids to sell. they raised almost $500!!! what a great job! all money goes to fighting childhood cancer which is cause dear to my heart. our 9-yr old son, max, was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 21-months old. he underwent 3 1/2 years of chemotherapy. this coming november will mark five years since his final treatment and he will be considered "cured!"

here's ben, max and lily at the lemonade stand

here's max in december 2003, four months into his treatment
i'm feeling very grateful today.

  1. Hi Lisa,
I'm so glad to hear that your son is doing well. We are having a Lemonade for Leukemia fundraiser this weekend. It's probably too late to order a batch of these cookies from you??? Where are you located?
BTW, Here's the story of our lemonade stand:
My niece Katie was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2003 when she was only 5 years old. She bravely endured over 2 years of chemotherapy and is now 6 years cancer free! The entire family and community has gotten involved with fundraising for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, with the hopes that someday we will have a cure for Leukemia. Lemonade for Leukemia was started 5 years ago by Katie's cousins, and that first year they raised $200. Last year we raised $2,500!

Come out and join us for lemonade, goodies, crafts & raffles and help us make this the best year yet!
